In today's fast-paced world, where online shopping and large retail chains dominate, family-owned toy shops offer something special. At Hobby House Toys we aim to create an environment with a blend of warmth, imagination, and community engagement that larger retailers simply cannot replicate. Beyond just selling toys, we hope to create memorable experiences that resonate with people of all ages.
The Personal Touch and Exceptional Customer Service of a Family-Owned Toy Shop
It is not uncommon to walk into the shop to see, the owner, Sue, greeting you with a warm smile, recalling that your child recently expressed interest in dinosaurs. Based on that memory, she might suggest a unique dinosaur puzzle or a cooperative play dinosaur board game. This kind of tailored service can be hard to find these days, but it's a central feature of Hobby House Toys.
Sue O'Neil started Hobby House Toys in 1998, aiming to create a family store where people of all ages, infants to 90-year-olds, can find something fun with which to play and enjoy. Sue and her husband, John, have 3 locations: Pittsford Plaza, Eastview Mall, and downtown Skaneateles. Some could argue that they have 4 locations with the addition of the online store, which was created in 2020 by their daughter, Jen, out of necessity during the pandemic. We hope with the addition of this new blog, we'll be able to bring some of the experience of visiting our store to our website.
Next time you’re looking for a special gift, consider visiting us here online or at one of our three physical locations. You will find friendly service, an unique selection of quality toys, and a world of fun.
